Getting Involved

WELCOME to the Murdon Legacy! If you've had a look around and decided you're interested in joining, this is a good place to be. We've conveniently provided links to all important information here. This is a guide of all important aspects of the world, how to join, and the basic mechanics of gameplay. The Murdon Legacy is not just a role-play or just a cyberpet adoption site. It's a combination, and extensive in both regards.

Required Reading

I've attempted to provide a fair amount if material regarding the races, cultures, and world of the Murdon Legacy, but not all of this is required reading. While it will probably help your gameplay to learn as much as you can about the world and its inhabitants, you can read up on extra documents as the information becomes relevant or required to you.

You must familiarize yourself with the game's rules as well as the basic introduction to the world. In your joining application, you'll be required to indicate a preferred species and type, so it's a good idea to read up on the three LC species: euclide, amuni, and defore.

The Joining Process

Once you've read the required information and feel your well enough acquainted with Izarn to want to play, you can head on over to the application forum and post your joining form. A moderator or administrator will then look over your form: If everything is filled out correctly, you'll be accepted. If you've been declined, the staff member will post the reasons for doing so, and you'll be given the opportunity to adjust your form accordingly.

It'll take a few days for your starter LC to be completed, so you won't be able to role-play right away. In the mean time you can take advantage of the OoC boards, acquaint yourself with other players, and participate in any games or events that are currently in progress.

Once you receive your first character, you'll be given your own subforum in the character database. Follow the guidelines on how to set up your records, and post your new character as well as your PP tracker. Once this is finished you'll be free to start role-playing and you can participate in IC games and events

Obtaining Characters

All players start off with a single playable LC. So how do you obtain more LC? Or get humans and murdon? You can get new characters by participating in games and events. Playable characters will often be given away as prizes, and you will also be given the opportunity to obtain tickets for custom or semi-custom characters. This is the way the majority of new characters will be obtained.

You can also obtains “bebes” of each species through breeding and breeding tickets.

Occasionally commissions will be open, in which you can purchase playable characters, familiars, and other great stuff for USD. This is the easiest way to obtain full customs, particularly those with extensive mutations and accessories.

Games, events, breeding, and commissions will all be announced in the games and events forum.

Currencies and Points

The Murdon Legacy has several different systems you’ll need to keep track of for your characters. These may seem somewhat complicated at first, but really they’re quite simple and require minimal effort on your part. These create a more realistic and detailed game play, and gives each individual character something to work towards.

First, we have the point system. Points are what you use to obtain OoC prizes, such as growth from one stage to the next, abilities, rank increases, and more! The easiest way to get points is to role-play. Each character as well as each player will have their own post in the character database to keep track of their posts.

Next, there are game tokens. The staff keeps track of your tokens for you, so you don’t need to worry about this…other than making sure you have the proper amount before you take part in an IC game!

Then there is the in-character currency, secor. Secor is kept track of in the national bank. All bank accounts will be automatically updated with pay checks and rent each month, but you have to inform the bank of any other transactions.

Last we have the character aspects of prestige and stats.
