The Murdon Legacy takes place on a small moon adjacent to an alien planet. Izarn, the moon, is naturally dissimilar from earth, containing a much higher oxygen percentage that has caused the life to flourish in abundance. While the flora and fauna are all distinctly alien (there are no earth animals on Izarn), one could compare many of them to facsimiles of prehistoric beasts.
Izarn is about 90% water and there is only one continent of significant size. All other land masses are primarily tiny archipelagos and islands, which are home to some very distinct species. Because of the fairly low levels of technology on Izarn, many of these islands have yet to be discovered or inhabited by the local sentient races.
Speaking of technology, Izarn is "similar to steampunk pre-victorian era. There are some steam-powered transportation devices, helium filled air ships, primitive guns such as flintlock pistols and muskets, phonographs, and telegraphs. There are no computers, iPods, motorized vehicles, battery powered devices, or machine guns.
The sentient races of Izarn reside in seven small provinces located on the main continent: Anygh, the industrial giant. Balada, the technology defiant jungle. Eneis, the peaceful desert. Orhon, badlands and safe haven to those ostracized from society. Sultherem, the unfriendly coastal community. Turacha, the bloodthirsty tundra. And Terra, an attempt to recreate the main species' original home, Earth.
The Plot
The Murdon Legacy does not have just one large plot. Just as in the real world there are multiple large conflicts occuring all the time, and a single person is capable of causing a ripple that can effect their city, their province, or even the world and beyond! The Murdon Legacy is a primarily character driven role-play, with most current events and plots stemming from in-character actions only. What starts out as a small, personal mission can quickly turn into something that rumbles over hundreds of characters, across borders and oceans.
But no world with history and devloped culture is a blank slate. There are several large, international conflicts that play a part in the current events of Izarn.
The Human Trade
Back on earth, the euclide's main purpose was to eradicate mankind. Their constant fighting, religious wars, and the slow but steady destruction of their planet drove the murdon to hatred of their species. They gave the euclide a taste for human flesh and souls...a taste that remains even though the euclide have been moved to Izarn. To support their addiction, several murdon have rebelled against the government, choosing instead to run an illegal supply line from Izarn to Earth. Bringing humans to the hungry euclide who can afford their steep prices.
The murdon government has issued out arrest warrants for anyone involved in the human trade, and black market selling of humans and human products. Unfortunately the poor humans who are recovered must either choose to live on Zar (the murdon planet) as pets, or be humanely put down. Because they've been exposed to such sensitive information, they can never return to earth. This has caused much strife between the human loving followers of Amunuku and the murdon political leaders.
Meanwhile, some humans have managed to escape their fates by running away. Now trapped in a deadly world where everything is out to destroy them, they must attempt to etch out a living for themselves and maybe, just maybe, find a way home.
Amunuku's Legacy
After the euclide were released on the human populations of earth, one murdon chose to give them a fighting chance. His love of humans far surpassed that of any other murdon, and because of this he created the Amuni. A sub-race of the euclide brought into being for the sole purpose of protecting mankind from their brothers.
Even though the humans are (supposed to be) gone from the lives of the euclide and amuni, the amuni's hatred for their brother race continues to boil strongly in their veins. It is, and always will be, the goal of the amuni to obliterate the euclide into extinction.
The Imperial Master's Plans
The Imperial Master is the supreme leader of Anygh, a heavily fascist dictatorship. For several years now he has been developing his nation into a massive industry for technology, armaments, and war. His province is the wealthiest, most heavily populated, and most technologically advanced of all the nations on Izarn. And it is his ultimate goal to unite the seven provinces into one nation - one nation that functions under one banner, one ruler: Him.
Exploration of the Unknown World
The oceans of Izarn are treacherous, and the murdon seem unwilling to help in the exploration of the moon. But with the Imperial Master planning expansion and the slowly dwindling resources, exploration is going to become vital for survival.
During game play several new islands and provinces can be unlocked through character interaction and the usage of certain special items. This, in turn, can unlock new species, new familiars, new shops, new games, and more!
