Songs of Ivory Stables

POLICIES

Sales & Trades

Only TQ placed on the sales page are available for sale and/or trade. Please do not enquire about any other tiniquines.

ALL tiniquine must keep their original prefix (if bred at Songs, SoI) when sold/traded. This cannot be changed. Registered tiniquines must keep their full names, where-as unregistered tiniquines may be renamed at your leisure so long as the prefix remains.

Change of ownership is the responsibility of the new owner.

I require a seven-day buy back period, if you choose to sell any tiniquine with the SoI prefix. This also applies for TQ who are being resold from inactive members.

Breeding

I will only breed REGISTERED pairs, meaning only my registered stallions are available to stud, and only for registered mares. Mares who have earned ribbons will be given higher priority (and possibly lowered stud fees) than mares without ribbons or wins.

You must contact me and request permission in order to use any of my stallions for stud.

Breeding Plans

    COLORS---
SoI is only interested in natural colored tiniquines. We breed only tiniquines who lack any fantasy genes, or the possibility to show any fantasy colors. We currently have three color goals.

STRAWBERRY AND BLUE ROAN: Songs of Ivory is primarily specializing in natural roans, including true roan, frosty roan, and rabicano roan. Patterns similar to roan (dapple and marble) are also welcome. Becase RR is lethal, we will never breed a true roan to another true roan, and therefore Songs keeps plenty of non-roan breeding stock. Chestnuts and solid blues, as well as red and blue duns, are welcome additions for our true roan breeding goals.

BUCKSKIN ROAN: For their beautiful creme brule appearance. We keep our Buckskin Roan lines seperate from the Strawberry/Blue lines, to avoid the chance of creating chestnuts. Rabicano Roan is prefered, but we also prize frosty and true roan as well. We are looking for AA Cc buckskins, preferably with RBRB. Double diluted cremes (CC) are kept as breeding stock, to produce buckskins with HMZ bays.

SILVER DUN ROAN: The most beautiful of the duns, these gorgeous individuals have struck our fancy here at Songs. We are specifically looking for individuals who are DD and GG. Some duns of other colors are kept as breeding stock, and red and blue duns from our Strawberry/Blue roan lines may also be used. HMZ greys are also prized as valuable breeding stock.

    PATTERNS---
We prefer to avoid Overo genes where possible. SoI already has a breeding program which involved a lethal gene (RR), Heterozygous overo tiniquine who have other valuable will not be turned away, but they will not be bread to other overos or toveros. We have no specific requirements regarding any other paint genes.

SoI specializes in two appaloosa patterns: Snowcaps and blankets. Any level of extension is permitted, but we are specifically interested in moderate expression. SCSC and BLBL genes are incredibly important and desirable in our breeding program. Phantom and reverse blankets are even more highly prized!

    MUTATIONS---
Songs has a keen interest in the fairy wing mutations, but this is secondary to our color goals. Any roan/buckskin/silver dun individuals with fairy wings are highly prized as good breeding stock.

To a lesser extent, we are also interested in feathering and antlers.
